I strongly recommend those made by/for Dave Allen. Just 2 pieces that do all the measuring you need.

Where to get them from? Dave Allen. How? I am not entirely sure.

With any luck Dave Allen may be at Roll Call I would recommend the plastic tools you just need two and not so easy to lose.

I go with the Dave Allen solution. I saw him using them at Britcon in our game and was so impressed I purchased a set at the end of the game. I believe Dave is one of the Central London mob. I have also used the PFW solution. They are very nice but not quite so useful.

Thanks for the links everyone.

I'm not sure which ones I will go for but I do want a set as I find them much better than tape measures.

If you can measure an cut accurately 3mm plstic card woiudl do the trick.
- A piece of platic card cut with edges 7 inches, 5 inches, 4 inches and 3 inches is pretty handy. basically a 7 by 4 card with a 2 by 1 peice cut out of one corner.
If you mark off each inch and cut into it with a hobby knife a black texta will fill the lines mad so you can measure 6, 3 and one inch.

Couple that with a folding imperial ruler which doubles as a deployment depth line and you have everything you need.

S & A Scenics in Lancashire http://www.scenics.co.uk/ do plasticard "measuring sticks show all movement rates and shooting ranges for either DBA , DBM or DBR. They are all 40mm wide, so you don’t need to use that other element to measure a base width!" I imported a batch a few years back and sold them to fellow gamers in Melbourne and Canberra. The DBR sticks also doubled as a "Wheel Guage" for due to the 40mm graduations.

If someone more local got in touch with them they could probably come up with something suitable.
