Question on how to assemble Old Glory 15mm Swiss Pikemen

Post by inquisitor_bob »

I just bought the Old Glory 15's Starter army for Field of Glory.

I cannot figure out how to put pikes on my Old Glory Swiss pikemen.

Do I need to drill the upper hand? The pikes that came with the pack seemed quite thick and I'm not sure if I can actually drill a hole that large since the hand seems smaller than the diameter of the pike. The lower hand is even smaller. Would the end of the pike extend beyond the bottom of the lower hand or could the bottom of the pike end flush with the lower hand?

Thanks for your assistance.

are you talking about the lead cast pikes or piano wire? For piano wire it was easy enough to drill out the hand - a lot of work, but worth it

I just ordered some OG Spanish pike myself to find that instead of the usual piano wire they included rather useless lead pikes. I hope this is not a permanent change.

Have to hit the hobby store for some more .20 piano wire now

Yes, I'm referring to the cast pike. I guess my best course would be to purchase some piano wires.

Thanks!! I appreciate the info.

Another idea is Hobby Lobby in the jewelry making section. They have packes of prepainted wire that works great.
