Hmmm....deadtorius, dragoonsbanedeadtorius wrote:Tempted to try the Cornish since they can move faster than my other pikes.
Bye the way I caught up with those pesky Dragoons again and shot them to rout, so in 2 games they have yet to survive. Of course my Cavaliers have yet to survive a game too so.......

Must have gone to the Fred Astaire school for drag-goons, eh? Turn, move, pirotte, turn back, lift, double-pivot and shoot. I can just see it, Cavaliers and their lady drag-goons tangoing across the danc...er, battlefield.Blathergut wrote:Just ideas on how to manoever them. That they can turn and move (and possibly turn back) makes them quite unique. Hopefully you will only see them in musket range if your Cavaliers are in front of them.deadtorius wrote:Going to have them carry white flags???

I found a Swedish dragoon 3 pack managed to hold a flank v some pesky Croat Light Horse carbines the other night, always managing to just dance out of range if he charged, and managing to shoot him down to 3 disrupted by the end of the game.
Although in the same game Gustav managed to lead 3 of the 5 foot regiments to deathr ather than glory, even one that was superior broke & fled from casualties in the end.
Seems against the Swedes you have to make the most of the round or two of close range fire you get, and of course if you hold at impact they are evens at melee.
Dragoons for 8pts seem money well spent.

As more than one French guardsmen at Waterloo could have told anyone....should they have lived enough, that is.Blathergut wrote:Ya, in the end, a musket ball doesn't care whether the target is poor or elite. When you start rolling 4 or more dice, casualties start to add up!
Actually more likely to hit an elite as they fool enough to stick around whereas the poor folk have long since fled.
