Hi
Just purchased Battlefield Academy and installed it Ok. However EVERY time I start the game, it says there is a new version available. I have run the updater (I have allowed it through my Firewall) again and again but it doesn't appear to make the update. Interestingly I have just run the installer 3 times in a row - the first time the update was 3,029K, the 2nd time 2,236K, the 3rd time 6,525K and then I gave it up as it is obviously not working for me. Any ideas? I have reinstalled and am still getting the same problem.
AppPatch-v0.1 not working.

Happened to me first time too .... except, back then it took 2 times ... each time was a diiferent patch as it finally got to the lastest, then it was happy, and stopped.antipasta wrote:Hi

You gave up too soon ... keep going.
pretty dumb if you ask me .... it should just patch once to latest and be done.

I just ran a new install and update to check that a file hadn't become corrupted, and it seems to be working fine.
Do you see it downloading (a % track of the download?).
I would also go into the install folder and check that the file 00010309-0001030A.001 isn't in there, and delete it if it is. The patcher isn't supposed to save out the file if it is corrupt, but something may have prevented it from saving correctly.
If it's not that - has your firewall software updated recently? You should recheck whether your firewall is still set to allow the UPDATER.EXE full access - sometimes the specific rules get altered by windows updates etc.
Cheers

Thanks for your help Pip.
Whilst I was looking for the details you've mentioned, I thought I'd try to patch it again - and it's worked OK this time! Curious ... This time it showed the % progress and the patch notes (which it didn't do last time) and has installed the file so all appears to be as it should be.
Odd, but life's like that sometimes!
