Movement by Division vs Movement by Battlegroup

Post by pudzy »

I am currently on my 4th re-read of the FOGR rules and I can't seem to find any specific rules for moving single battlegroups. It would appear that there are no restrictions on how many individual battle groups can move or what they can do outside of the restrictions of the CMT. I am sure I am missing something here as I can't see any advantage of moving by division if individuall BGs are free to move as they wish.

I would point out that I am no novice, having played WRG6th, WRG7th, DBM, WRG Renaissance and DBR as well as many other unrelated systems so I am used to the *WRG* style of rule writing but I can't figure this out!

Just a page reference woud help! Cheers! P.

Try pages 100 and 101 on 2nd and 3rd moves.

Yes each BG can move once each turn unless in combat. However, see P100 and 101, Second and Third moves. That's where the Division comes in.

Ahh yes! I see it buried in there now... The BG could only move twice as an individual BG if a commander is with it and it hadn't moved as part of a division whereas if moving by division all of the BGs in the division move twice. Think I've got it. Thanks for the lightning fast replies!
