Can these morph from A&M to R? What will be needed?

Post by Skullzgrinda »

I have a friend who wants Italian Condotta - Venetian - as a FoG AM army. Would he be able to morph it to some sort of Renaissance list and look right?

Same question about Wallachians.

If these can be morphed, what minis would be needed besides those listed in SoA and EE?

If he has late C15th style figures they will morph for early FoG:R just fine - the rules start at 1494.

MF arquebusiers for the Venetian spring to mind along with some landsknechts.

Historically
Wallachians continued to serve for an against the Ottomans in the 16th century. Other than the slow introduction of firearm and maybe different kidsn of mercenaries, i would think similar.

One thing worth considering re early armies is that Unprotected MF bowmen are a hell of a lot better in FOGR than they are in FOGAM.

This is because

1) Enemy don't get a shooting +POA against them.
2) Most foot lack a close combat POA vs foot, and there is no Protected armour type, so they are not massively disadvantaged in close combat
3) At 5 points each you get an awful lot of them

Thanks to all for your answers. With Venetians and Wallachians in the queue for painting anyway under FoG AM, these will probably be the initial armies for us.

Still tempted by some kind of sola scriptura guys. We shall see.
