Broken BG and rear support

Can Broken units count rear support (to be rallied)? And can they give rear support? I know it looks strange but both situations happened today in a game.

Broken BGs cannot give rear support, because the unit giving support must be steady (among its other qualifications). Not sure about broken BGs receiving rear support. Regardless, I am sure the circumstances for it must be tolerably rare.

Broken BG's CAN receive Rear support This is a very usefull function for drilled cav that can turn 90 degrees and swing in an arc such as to provide the support.

Any troops can claim rear support but as the troops being supported have to be 'in front' of those doing the supporting it means that anyone supporting routers will be facing at best at 90 degrees to the enemy.
