Do they have to use a bg of superior & a bg of average as in the beta lists ?

Assuming you mean Gendarmes, they don't have to have any at all.

Apologies, I meant the Landsknecht pike & heavy weapon combo.

Never mind, I read it wrong, thats what you get from checking it on a cell phone.. :oops:
