Great battle reports!

It helps with this endless wait. I hope we could see 3th and 4th soon.

Keep the good work!

here's Number 3...

Nice report again. Thanks!

I would have thought Hannibal might be replaced by Wallenstein in the renaissance?

Loved the report. Would like to hear your overall impressions on the new rules. From reading your reports, I am getting geared up to jump into the period (again).

Sad that I sold off my collection of ECW years ago...

Madaxe...

Could you give an example of the dice numbers and POAs for one of those Swiss blocks impacting & meleeing one of your pike/shotte? They sure seemed to just slice and dice through everything.

It looked like you really only got 2 rounds off before they impacted? One at long range and one at short?

Great report, I thought you were done for by those horrifying Swiss. Makes one wonder what can stand up to those yodelling buggers. I can only hope that my Royalist cavalry will act somewhat similar when they finally get to meet Blatherguts Parliamentarian horde some day.

I messed up the shooting by not clearing the skirmish screen earlier but they do advance quicker than normal foot.

Even when only at a single +POA, being Elite with a general and re rolling 3's plus having a BG size of 10 makes you a lot better than an average BG of 6 !!!

12 points each for the Elite Armoured variety. And they are in large BGs, so it's a lot of eggs in a few baskets.

Is that a basket of deadly eggs or is it the basket as a whole that destroys all that its shadow falls upon??
Seems to be pretty much unstoppable and I guess skirmishers still had a use in the earlier part of the period. They block muskets but not artillery is that correct?
Come on rules were waiting to get our questions answered.....

Dogsleds are notoriously slow this time of year here.

Hard on the dogs to drag them across grass and pavement!

I only hope the boat carrying them did not sink or the container fell off in the mid Atlantic. That is a dive excursion I could do without.

Keils are VERY vulnerable to mounted from the rear (so to speak) and large guns. Richard demonstrated this to me at RollCall 2009. The French provide some counter to the mounted - removes what can be a weakness of the Swiss on their own.
