I have 5 turns spare on him so my score adjust from 3 to 8 and he has only 5 so I win.
Its a bit more complex but gives a fairer result.

I like the idea of throwing in the turns left (for mission which have one, and this one does) as part of the total record victory. We could try for next tournament, or throw it in if everyone agrees to it now, although this would mean repeating the first round again which has been played by most..and things are going slow enough. But majority rulesiainmcneil wrote:How about looking at the number of turns played. E.g. If I win in 10 turns and lose in 15, I had 5 turns of time to do stuff my opponent didnt. Alternativaley - does this mission have a time limit? If it does the German Allied score could be turns remaining when Germans are destroyed + Flags controlled. If not, adding one would probably help. This is a lot simpler and coudl be reported to both sides through the in Game UI for that mission.

Not a mistake on your part Paul - we all knew defining the scoring was going to be problematic. As you say, it's much better than no tournament, especially if it's being held up waiting for the perfect scoring scheme ... only can be worked on when got real-life attempts to identify the issues and improvements.
P.S. remember my nice, supportive mail on your next turns

I think all this issues will help improve future editions. The hardest part was getting this started and paul idea of making it simple is the correct one imo, since is like a first draft ready to discuss and improve. As he says, he got the tournament going, which is the most important part.

What happens if your opponent resigns before the end of the game? As Allies, I had 10 kills to his 2, and probably would have taken every flag (or at least four). As it was, I held three out of five flags when he resigned.
As Axis in our mirror match, I'm currently holding two flags and we each have six kills. I guess I could resign that game and then win the overall match on the tiebreak.
Sailing Guy: 1 victory, 5 flags, 16 kills
Pomakli: 1 victory, 5 flags, 8 kills

Well, paul already edited rules as to strictly forbid any SURRENDERS, as that can lead to very gamey situations in the matches.SailingGuy wrote:What happens if your opponent resigns before the end of the game? From my part, i think at least the minor penalty should be conceding victory and ALL the flags of the scenario to your opponent.
I am even supporting the idea of SURRENDER=ROUND LOST

I'd agree with Acererak - if you surrender either of your games you forfeit that round and your opponent goes through to the next round. For fairness shouldn't be applied in this first round as there does seem to be some confusion. However from next round onwards could be used.
Also thinking ahead Paul - in the 2nd round are you planning on tweaking the scoring system based on what's been learnt this round? In the unlikely event I get through I wouldn't have a problem with changes - just need to make it clear at the time the draw is announced.

The part where we forgot to include this clearly at the begining and had to point it out it in the middle when games were already running, paulolszanski2.paulolszanski2 wrote:what part of NO SURRENDERS is everybody having trouble understanding?
Let´s keep the politeness and good mood as to make the tournament a fun activity for everyone
I think we should stick to this simple rules for this tournament and keep noting problems that come out, and then make the changes for next tournament. Otherwise wouldnt be too fair for people who got eliminated on first round.
Upps!
SORRY!paulolszanski2 wrote:what part of NO SURRENDERS is everybody having trouble understanding?
The part I dind't understand was not reading all the messages here in this thread!
I lost all my armour so that there will be no way to destroy the enemy armour for winning the game!
This was my logic!
Just for your info!

Cheer up!paulolszanski2 wrote:no i should be the one thats sorry.i saw that post from salor this morning and i was already in a bad mood.the LAST THING i wanted to do is make anybody mad.
Addressing Pomalki and Sailinguy match, i would suggest if both of them surrendered they games, then flags would not count (each would have 5 given by opponents surrender) and victory should go to best ratio kills/losses for both games together.
Seems like the fairest solution to me.

Re: Upps!
Makes total sense. I just didn't know what to do. When I get your turn back to me I'll resign my game (as suggested above). That will mean that you are eliminated from this roundpomakli wrote:SORRY!paulolszanski2 wrote:what part of NO SURRENDERS is everybody having trouble understanding?
