2 issues: computer freezes at launch and no uninstall

Post by Black_Kleitos »

I'm facing two issues:
1. When I click okay on the launch page, the computer freezes - requires a hard shut down
2. Uninstall cannot find data file - so doesn't work

I'm running 32bit Windows Vista

Thank you for reporting this. Do you know what version of the game you have? Also, when the computer freezes, what do you see on the screen: is the launch page still there, or do you see your desktop, or do you see a black screen with logos?

To uninstall, you could perhaps try installing again (in the same location), and then trying to uninstall.

Great tip on re-install/un-install

I am running 1.28 - but still face same issue

Once I hit "GO" from the splash launch page, the splash page disappears, I see my desktop, and then everything locks (requiring a hard re-boot)

Please can you let us know what graphics card you have? (You can find this out by clicking Start, then Run, then entering dxdiag then going to the Display tab.) It could help to install the latest drivers for you graphics card.

An update to the game is also available (see here), so you could also try downloading and installing that update.

Thanks - running NVidia GeForce 8700M GT graphics card

I manually updated the driver which, combined with the 1.33 update, seems to have done the trick!

I am all set

Thanks!
