The cav will be 5 MU away and facing the wrong way so will get no more shots until turned and in range
If you do a break-off you end up 5MU away and facing the enemy.

Assuming the cavalry break-off at the end of the spearmen's round they can immediately advance by 1MU and start shooting again.

The cavalry would only end up facing away from the spearmen if they were to evade instead.
