Schiltron 2011 (March 2011)
Hi Everyone,
Each year we run Schiltron as an open book tournament, using all the books. I was wondering what people would think if we possibel changed it to a themed event instead. Giving everyone plenty of time to try out different armies!!!
A few areas I was looking at are :-
1. Any enemy of the UK (Any army which has invaded the UK, or fought against as Scottish, Enlgish, Welsh, Irish army in Europe from any time peroid)
2. Any army which has fought or invaded Scotland
3. Armies that must have Steppes within there selection
4. European Armies only. (Nothing East of Turkey)
5. Any book
So post below what you think would be a good option

Hi George,
I prefer a themed to an open tournament, I don't really mind what it is, especially if there is plenty of advance warning. I selected "European" from the options given as I think it would be best to have a fairly wide theme or people may feel excluded, so something like the Scottish theme could be too restrictive. Personally, I would go for a region and date (before or after the introduction of HA Knights is potentially a good one) so that you don't get too wide a spread.
I also like the idea that was used for a US tournament recently where only Average troops were allowed.
Cheers,
Kevin

Themed would be good but with the enemy of the UK I have a feeling there will be loads of Longbows about.kevinj wrote:Hi George,
