Disordered Foot
There is IMO a problem with the distinction of HF and MF. Easy cure for a lot of it. Foot do not lose dice for being disordered. They are though still disordered so would not count as steady spear.

Anything that means spearmen only collapse like skittles (instead of the present "like a deck of cards in a hurricane") sounds good to me.
It would mean MF had no real reason to exist as they would have no combat advantage in terrain if they were just as good as HF (non spears) - then again there is little point in occupying terrain anyway.
( Do HF get slowed to 2" in disordering terrain? )

No, it affects all heavy foot. They do not lose dice if disordered. But they are not steady.JLopez wrote:Oh OK then. It's crap because it only affects spearmen which just isn't FAIR.
They are still disordered, still move more slowly, MF would not be disordered and would not be losing to HF in open.madaxeman wrote:Anything that means spearmen only collapse like skittles (instead of the present "like a deck of cards in a hurricane") sounds good to me.

To be honest I don't think this is the issue. I don't recall fielding a BG of fighting MF (as opposed to missile armed MF) more than a couple of times since FOG was published and I can't say it has ever affected my games negatively. Conversely I always make a beeline for any that have the temerity to leave terrain. Basically, I've found terrain and MF largely irrelevant in FOG which is a shame.philqw78 wrote:No, it affects all heavy foot. They do not lose dice if disordered. Assuming they would really be significantly more vulnerable to shooting, isn't that sort of covered by the fact they move slower in disordering terrain and will get shot at more often as a result?philqw78 wrote:As an addition to this it would be good to reduce the armour of disordered or disrupted heavy foot against shooting. So, e.g. , Armd heavy foot shot at whilst disordered count as protected.

Possibly, but it does make shooting more fun. And it stops HF hiding in cover to protect themselves from shooting even more as there is a minus POA for cover but their personal protection is not as good.jlopez wrote:Assuming they would really be significantly more vulnerable to shooting, isn't that sort of covered by the fact they move slower in disordering terrain and will get shot at more often as a result?
