MP reply lag

Post by Windycity »

Hi,

First off I would like to express my overall satisfaction with the game, I’m not going to make out of context comparisons of BA vs this and that, I think to the people that actually own BA and are playing especially in MP would agree.
The title stands on its own.

But I do have one question that I though might be out of context in your general forum, on some games (not all) I get tremendous lag during MP replays ?

Strange, my rig far exceeds “recommended “ specs and like I said its only on some MP games I have currently going and its just my opponents replay

When you say lag, what do you mean? Just that the game plays back very slowly, or that it is somehow lagging behind in one aspect of the playback?

Cheers

Seems the reply processes fine (opponents moves ) but once they fire the game slows to a crawl , then picks up again till the next unit fires….?

Hmm - never seen that behaviour before. It does play at high speed when there is no action going on, so would look different, but then you seem to be suggesting the game plays at normal speed after that.

It might be that the upcoming patch will fix it, as it contains optimisations to the replay and turn saving.

Cheers

Indeed the patch fixed majority of the problem.

Thanks for the quick replies

I have actually experienced this a few times now, for example the mortar shots take forever to land then all of a sudden it jumps to the next tank and goes quick again. It almost reminds me of when you play a game on the highest settings and your graphics card can't handle it, you get real choppy motions. But then it clears up after the replay and runs perfect again when it is your turn.

The replay skips over areas where there is no action going on, so that might be what you are seeing?

I'm seeing animation slowdown lately during MP replays. My problem is that it does not skip frames. It plays them all in slow motion.

I have experianced this also but only when I zoom out on the battlefield. I figure that in my case the aded detail needed to be processed slows mine down. Don't know if that is it but it makes some kind of sense to me.

I get lag during replays too, it stutters a lot, consistently.
