Cohesion

Post by petedalby »

I know you are trying to keep the factors to a minimum but shouldn't there be some advantage in seeing enemy BGs in rout? It would tend to give you a bit of a lift?

3 MU's for seeing friends broken / a general lost in my experience so far doesn't tend to result in many cohesion tests. How about increasing the range to 4 MU's?

Bit of an odd one the 3MU. It has been chosen so that it has the same effect in 15mm and 25mm given current base widths.

Interesting idea on enemy routing. I am not personally keen to give a CT factor for them. But your thinking makes me wonder if having adn enemy unit rout nearby should perhaps give an option for a rally roll? That might be a neat twist. WHat do you think?

My rationale came from a recent game. 3 enemy BGs were in rout from combats. The remaining enemy steady BGs were beyond 3 MU at the point of break so no CT's.

One of my pursuing BGs hit a new enemy BG - lost the impact and promptly double dropped to fragmented! Seemed a bit harsh when all around it could see pursuing friends and routing enemy.

I'd prefer a +1 on a CT for routing enemy within 6 MUs rather than your build of an additional option to rally - it would be another rule to remember. But why not do both?

Ok Pete. We'll put that one on the discussion list.

The only comment I would make is that we are trying to avoid having too many factors that cuase the game to extend. In a close fight where both sides lose BGs this will give both sides a +1 on make it harder for either to break.

I wonder therefore at perhaps +1 if no friends routing and enemy BG routing. Then it only helps a ture winner.

PS sorry all for the absence - been in bed with a bug the last few days.
