I agree, in this situation the dark green does conform to an overlap but it can only do so because the red BG has a frontal opponent.philqw78 wrote:
In this image dark green conforms left as it ends in an overlap position and it is the shortest conform. Light green cannot conform. In the next turn light red would conform. Also by going left (as we view it) as, even though going right is shorter, it would not be in an overlap by going right
Where it does however get interesting is that when it comes to the melee phase there is an argument that the dark green BG cannot fight because the melee is fought 'as though conformed'
The initial post in this thread there is no second red BG.
This is not a situation that the attacking player can actually arrange unless the defending player has somehow setup a situation where there are two offset BG for the attacker to be able to charge such that one BG does not conform.

Also if there was no light red both green would go left or right.hammy wrote:This is not a situation that the attacking player can actually arrange unless the defending player has somehow setup a situation where there are two offset BG for the attacker to be able to charge such that one BG does not conform.philqw78 wrote:
My intention on the diagram was that the far left light green base is >= half way along the left (as we view it) dark red base so they would both go left if no light red base. Hmph millimetres

I mis-read your critical caveat. to the left as we see it.philqw78 wrote:How is the light red conform a punch in the face? The dark green is odd. But that is what the rules say. I find your stance on this quite odd Dan.
i skipped that part surfing and working. Apologies. I thought you implied it conforms out of cotnact.

Today was a day. Power outage. Wife travelling. Me stranded with 10-month old. 10-month old food in fridge melting. Clients need help. etc and so forth.philqw78 wrote:Perhaps you should be more careful before offering up Dr Richard's fistshazelbark wrote:![]()

My blood was up and I was not focusing. Usually that's what I enjoy about gaming. It is calming and focusing

However if light green went right dark green must also go right as going left would not be an overlap position.philqw78 wrote:My intention on the diagram was that the far left light green base is >= half way along the left (as we view it) dark red base so they would both go left if no light red base. Dan you are a bigger man than that. And a bigger man than me. Richard is a bit scrawny tho, so it was a lot less scary than your fists. I hope your day improves. And hope to see you back gaming in the UK soon.hazelbark wrote:Today was a day. Power outage. Wife travelling. Me stranded with 10-month old. 10-month old food in fridge melting. No, because if there is no light green then dark green would not be an overlap position, so it must go the its right, making full frontal contact with one base.Jilu wrote:So if there is no light green and no light red, darkgreen still conforms only as overlap??

... going back to the impact phase, which bases fight in the example above? There are two light green bases in contact with the chocolate BG and one dark green, but only two bases can take part. Is it a free choice by the owner?philqw78 wrote:

If light green is there it would conform to overlap, if it is not it would conform with one base in full frontal contact and 1 in overlap to left.Jilu wrote:if dark green hits dark red in the flank but starting from a position that is not considered in the flank. How does darkgreen conform on darkreds front?
