Operation Cobra

Anyone beat this mission yet? I must have played it at least 10 times with no success, the 4 Tigers go down fairly easy, but if you lose more than a few shermans you will never make it past the stugs.

You have patience, my friend. I would have put it in the game editor and cheated by now.

Tut-tut-tut!! Remember draftees, cheaters never win a war! :P

Barring dirty bombs of course.

Every scenario is winnable. I can't quite remember that scenario in detail but I think others have had issues with it before. Your initial purchases may not be too well suited for it though. Let me know what you're purchasing.

Can't remember too much of it but using the initial B17 against the fortified hill and the other bombardments against the tank depots was useful to soften up both defenses and first attack wave. I believe you get reinforcements when capturing the depots? So be aggressive and push forward to the first depot as fast as you can.

Yea, i guess i will just have to give it another go this weekend. It would be nice if they told you how many turns it is going to take before you use it, and also canceling support if you change your mind. Once you click on something you are pretty much stuck, but that is really no big deal just make sure you really mean it when you call in support.

You can cancel support.
Just mouse over the spot where the marker shows and you see a red cross. Right click and left click like with normal orders. Presto!

Well i was finally able to complete this mission today, It was a very good lesson in combined arms but i am glad it is over, i was almost starting to get a little frustrated, I almost lost the hill because there were hidden waffen ss and panzershreks that came out of nowhere, or i guess i just didn't kill them in my bombing raids.
