Back catalogue ?

Post by Althered »

Ok, i already said in another thread that i discovered BA by accident . The same also applies to Slitherine whom i had not heard of before, and so it set my mind wondering .When i eventually complete or tire of BA what is the back catalogue of other games like ? .Which is the most popular ?. Any feedback would be useful.

Biased opinion here :), but I suggest at least checking out Commander Europe at War.

I have it, I like it. It's not perfect, but then there's such thing as a perfect wargame. It is also multi platform.

Actually, i have that game ! Bought it off Matrix a while back .I must admit i found it difficult to get into .Are Slitherine game developers or just publishers ? ( or both ?) .

We are a publisher, but we also have internal teams.

Owning most of the Slitherine catalogue I was also going to suggest Commander Europe at War (particularly with the Grand Strategy mod).

If you have questions about it the Slitherine CEAW forum is pretty active and they seem a fairly friendly bunch, there are also a number of good AARs to have read through to see how its done.

Other than that I still have fun with the Ancients series of games, of these Chariots of War is probably the best value for money though My advice would be if this period is of interest pick the one that covers the empires / period that is of most interest to you. Be aware though that they are a bit, though not much more complex than CEAW.
