which figures for Royalist Horse

I just loaded up on Warlord 28mm plastic ECW figs and I was wondering which is the best way to go with the cavalry. Should they be armed with pistols or swords. Reason I ask is that my only other foray into Renaissance was with DBR where it seemed the Royalist cav was deemed more of a charging type and so sword armed seemed appropriate. Looking at the sample list from RBS it looks like pistols might be a better choice.
Any opinions appreciated thank you.

I'd do a mix because it'll look good.

They used both, so use both types mixed together for visual effect. Equipment is not synonymous with capability in FOG.
