WOW! Can I say "WOW!"? Can I say "Oh my goodness I am excited about this game"?

I have been bitching for as long as I have been playing PC games that there are no decent developers out there who are doing it right. So this morning I navigate to your website through a link from the Total War forum and bam! it appears that I may be proven wrong. What can I say but WOW! The animation of the running legionare is awesome.

One question I have at this point. Can I buy some stock in Slitherine?

And again, WOW!

Welcome...

You've come to the right place...solid games with good ai. You won't be disappointed.

Best way to support Slitherine is to buy their games online.

Recommendation

Thanks for the welcome. I am a disillusioned and downhearted ex-TW fanatic.

Which would you recommend if you had to choose just one?

The older games are much more about campaigning, and not really about battles as you have very little control. If you are into the battles, I'd wait for Legion Arena, but if you like a good campaign, Spartan & Troy are the latest versions of the engine, though Legion & CoW are fun if you like simple strategy games from those periods.

I've got them all now. I've started with the combo Spartan/Gates of Troy which i highly recommend as you'll have a lot of maps/scenarios.

Legion, while very fun, looks old compared to Spartan...furthemore Legion 2 is on it's way.

Chariots of Wars, despite not being as advanced as Spartan/GOT, offers a unique feel of the old times in Mesopotamia / Egypt.

All in all, my first advice is Spartan / Gates of troy as a bundle (cheaper than both separate).

The focus of these games, unlike Legion Arena, is the campaign map. So don't expect the same battles as in RTW. There's a demo for Spartan...check it out.
