As a wargamer for more than 3 decades, this is a great game, I must say! I find it very intuitive and very easy..... that said, i am wondering if, perhaps, the tutorial might be a bit brief for newbies that have never played tactical war games before, or, are unfamiliar with unit types and capabilities. I think the tutorials should have an option for those unfamiliar with war games like this, to cover how artillery works (I suppose an airstrike newbies could extrapolate to artillery strikes), as well as perhaps have some hunting versus movement as well as cover, and even being fired on would be good too for the tutorials....
that said, been enjoying this game all month.... and i love the cartoon flavor that will appeal to younger audiences, perhaps as well as us old timers lol

making the world a better place through UNICEF and AIEF and CIN....
Hmm, the one thing I never understood from the tutorial (and still don't), is how do we know which unit to target in an airstrike for maximum damage. I skimmed the manual and believe it also doesn't explain this mechanism very well.

Experience Ratio = (def exp level + 2)/(att exp level + 2)
Entrenchment Ratio = (def entr rate + 1) /(att entr rate + 1)

If you'd like to see quickly what each type of bombardment can and cannot do, i would set up a quick scenario, with a few enemy tanks, and 1 allied unit, with all the different artillery and air power types available
then, just click one at a time
and notice the pattern.... each type of plane has a different kind of strike patter,,,, for instance, a figher is usually straight line, 2 or 3 tiles it seems
a blenheim might be 2 tiles wide, by 4 tiles long or less
artilary 5.5 inch has a huge pattern, roughly around the aim point
a b-17 has a long and wide pattern
as far as hits,
put the aim point where you want the error ellipse to fall, so that the chance of hitting what you want is good... perhaps a scout also might help with aiming this... but since these are off map to some extent.... the pattern will be broad
you also have to anticipate to some extent.....it might move, for all you know.... some thing like the naval artillaery and b-17s take a while to attack, so unless its a fixed target, it may have left the zone
also
make sure
not to move your units into a kill zone
as your units will take friendly fire and could even die

It's a nice idea. However these kinds of 'teaching' missions tend to turn off new players, even though we know that it's useful information for them to have.
I wonder if we could have a campaign which is just some sandboxes where you can try out the bonuses and units.
Some of the off-map attacks will show you their AoE if you hold down SHIFT (we tell the player this in the loading tips). We also recommend keeping your troops away too!
wrt air attacks, they will always hit the tile you tell them to, unless there is nothing on it, in which case they will look around for another target. They then lay down fire generally in a line around that tile, with differing numbers of bomb and/or straffe attacks, depending on the aircraft.
Cheers
