Entries are also welcome from individuals, who will be combined into teams at the organiser’s discretion. It would be appreciated if any individual entrants could be flexible as to the pool they enter to assist this process. Due to the team nature of the competition, individuals cannot be guaranteed entrance, although every effort will be made to accommodate those who want to play.

Is the 900 pts for the third period a typo?

Also, should the title read World Teen Championships or World Team Championships? Not too sure there are many of us who can qualify as Teens...

Scale

Post by scopa »

Maybe a dumb question but what scale should the armies be?

Just to be different ?

Sounds like a valid idea to me. Back in the later days of the DBM comp each pool while not themed had a different point total so IIRC it was 350, 400 and 450 points for the three pools.

And the same time scale? now it would interesting to see how many finish with an army break in the third pool.

900 point games finish just as easily as 800 in c. 3.5 hours in my experience.

Nice to see some variety from just 800 points IMO :D

All,

900pts theme for the Ottomons is to make this pool a bit different. Maybe more points gives a better balance in this period, where there can be a tendancy for knights to chase LH/ Cv around the table & never catch anything - or maybe I'm just not that good at using knights?!?

I take it no chance of getting "mediveal dated blood and gold armies" into the themes?

No sorry - Pools are deliberately tightly themed and selected so that each has a different "flavour". I figure that with 3 books on offer most people can cobble together or beg/borrow something suitable. As always I'm happy to take comments/ views about the format & I have taken some views on board from last year, so I do listen!

Hi All,

9 Teams confirmed for the event so far - which is almost as many as last year already! If anyone wants to enter, get those entries in fast as there is a limit to the number of tables that we can get - and it will be first-come-first served with the other comps.

Cheers

Well I can do any theme, don't have a team, so don't have an entry*. Anybody need a slightly below average player (based on last outing*)
