Rennaissance Modeling

Post by ethan »

Looking forward to FoG:R and wondering about some basics of modeling the pike and shot era. One thing I am uncertain about is the general morphability of the generic troops.

Assuming I had army specific "spice" such as stands with flags, etc. How generic are Thirty Years War era pikes, shot, cavalry, etc.? My sense is that there is a transition in this period form fairly scruffy generic looking guys to uniformed armies as the end of the period, but is that really correct?

In my opinion, the ECW may have had a lot of uniformed troops, but in the TYW, the closer you get to the end of the period, the more ragged in appearance the mercenary armies of the time became.
