Latest upgrade

Post by White81 »

Hi,

I am mac user and just upgraded to 1.3.0 - from bought version 1.2.8 before - never on beta

I am in middle of multiplayer game and runs as normal until send back to opponent when error message appears

"sorry, an error occurred while uploading the game.

Not enough data (code 1)"

when I try to retry - same error comes up - press cancel instead and takes me right back to beginning!

also in game I have noticed that command units acting very strangely - allows multiple moves until furthest range reached? - is this right?

Thks

Paul.

If you move in to range of a general you can do the extra double move distance.

upgrade

Thks - but this is the general unit itself which is behaving strangely - certainly different to before upgrade!

Any thoughts by anyone on more serious issue - that of not being able to send back on multiplayer games - at moment i am unable to play them!

Can you try again - we dont know any reason why it would not work. The PBEM runs on a different server to the updates so should nto be effected by the thousands of people downloading the 1.3.0 version.

i will when i get home.

the games were begun under 1.2.8 - so not sure whether that would make any difference?

One is with Mr Bodley-Scott and he is beating me! - shame if we could not continue!!!

Regarding the double moves, I thought they would be set atthe start of the move as to who can do them within range of a leader. Being able to get them as you enter range or by moving a leader into range makes double moves freely available. I'm not sure yet if this is a good thing or not.

I agree with this, it does feel a little gamey moving all your guys in range, and then moving a leader to be able to get others in range... It also gives a huge avantage for those lists that allow light cavalry units to be leaders (many dont!)

I am reasonably sure it is how it is intended to work. I do think a unit has to start out in command when you begin moving it to get the extra distance. I don't think you can move into command range and then get the additional double move. (But I haven't tried that case explicitly.) I believe it is intended that you can move your commander and then have other units now in command range and therefore now able to double move if they have not moved already this turn. Since FoG PC does not include a separate phase to allow commanders to re-deploy separately from other units, I do think the current implementation works reasonably well.

All games - tried each one including starting new challenge under new upgrade.

It was fine before upgrade now just giving that error message when I try to send back to opponent. I can seem to review the moves made by the opponent before i make my moves - it then does not seem to want to send back my moves?
