War of Spanish succession

Post by malafide »

Quick question... are the fogr rules likely to cover the early 18th C (ie the great northern war, war of the spanish succession etc)?

The rules end in 1698, so no I'm afraid.

We had to draw the line somewhere.

However, I think the rules would in fact work well enough for the WotSS. Although you would have to devise your own army lists, classifying the troops using the system and points costs in FOG:R should not be too difficult and should produce appropriate results.

You would have to decide for yourself whether to use or ignore the FOG:R requirement for battle groups taking part in multiple move to be in a "chequerboard" formation (which reflects 16th/17th century battle illustrations).

Otherwise, I suspect the rules would be quite satisfactory - they include the necessary rules for bayonet-armed musketeers.
