Kaspersky AV warning Immortal Fire "seems to be a P2P w

Just tried installing (release version, not beta) Immortal Fire. Shortly after launching the installer Kaspersky AV notifies me that ImmortalFire-Setuprelease-v130.exe is a "potentially dangerous program", identified as Worm.P2P.generic.

On terminating the install I found Kaspersky had kindly deleted the downloaded installer for me - withut asking or giving me the option not to delete! Luckily I'd already made a backup

I should probably add that Kaspersky seems to generate false alarms about this problem quite a bit (Google has loads of hits about this).

Kaspersky's pro-active defence system seems to regard quite a lot of things as potentially dangerous/key-logger/worm-like :-/

As for the deletion - Kaspersky should quarantine the file but said it couldn't so deleted it instead - that's definetly a Kaspersky issue and I'll take that up with them.

We have different AV programs on all the test PC's here in the office and none report an issue. We have tested downloading and installing it multiple times with zero issues so I suspect a Kaspersky issue. By comparison on my own PC I use Norton Internet Security 2010. I do not think there is anything better on the market. It has a feature called Norton Sonar. This is a predictive application that blocks a program in case it may be a virus even though it has no records for the 'virus' found in its database. While i like Norton Sonar it often blocks and deletes applications from safe sites when I try to install them. This includes some Microsoft downloads. Like Kaspersky this can be annoying.

With a few so many downloads of Immortal Fire overnight, our own testing, and only this repprt of a problem it seems everything is ok.

I have Norton which kindly offered to delete IF after it downloaded. I chose not to.
