GS Expansion Spanish language
Hi
When I install the 1.06 version I select english language but for some reason it is installed in Spanish, any idea why is that? I am running my computer in Spanish, if that helps to explain it

The same thing happened to me with the older BJR mod. You just have to reinstall Commander 1.12 (gold version) and then select english language when the program installation asks you for language option. Then, install GS 1.06 and select english language too.
Re: GS Expansion Spanish language
I have done that already, I installed first 1.12 gold, checked language in the game, and it was english, then I installed GS 1.06, english language, but still it is in Spanish!leridano wrote:Hi,Aryaman wrote:Hi

Re: GS Expansion Spanish language
In the "My Documents\CEAW Grand Strategy" folder there is a file name, "settings.txt". If you open the file the very first line is for the language. If yours is not set to 1 then change it to 1 and give it a try. By the way, you can move this file (i.e., hide it) in another folder or delete it and when you restart CEAW - GS it'll ask you for your language and what RAM setting you wish to use.rkr1958 wrote:In the "My Documents\CEAW Grand Strategy" folder there is a file name, "settings.txt". I changed it to LANGUAGE 1, then run the Gs, it showed in Spanish. I took a look to the settings.text and it was changed to LANGUAGE 4!
Re: GS Expansion Spanish language
Try to remove CEAW entry from windows registry. I remember that I did this when it happened to me. Then, reinstall in english CEAW 1.12 and GS 1.06.Aryaman wrote:Hirkr1958 wrote:In the "My Documents\CEAW Grand Strategy" folder there is a file name, "settings.txt". Re: GS Expansion Spanish language
Here you are a mini-tutorial on how to delete CEAW entry from windows registry:Aryaman wrote: Yes, Windows XP
First of all, remove your current CEAW installation from your computer.
In desktop, go to "Inicio", click on it and then go to "Ejecutar".
Click on "Ejecutar" and another window will be opened. You will be asked to write about the name of the program, folder or document. Write regedit for entering in windows registry.
Then you just have to click on "Aceptar" and another window named "Editor del Registro" will be showed. Once you are in "Editor del Registro" go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder.
Then, double click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder and it will be shown another 5 subfolders.
Go to Software subfolder and double click on it. It will appear all your software entries on your computer.
I got CEAW from Matrix games, that´s why a Matrix games subfolder containing CEAW subfolder it is showed. If you get CEAW from Slitherine then you just have to look for a subfolder named Slitherine on this window and then double click on it.
And finally, go to Commander Europe at War subfolder and then right click on it. You just have go to "Eliminar" and CEAW entry will be deleted from windows registry.
Once you have deleted CEAW entry from windows registry it should go away your problem about language. I tried with this and it worked.
Now that you have deleted CEAW entry from windows registry, reinstall CEAW 1.12, then GS 1.06 choose english language when asked and hopefully spanish language should not appear any more.
It should appears Holland and not Netherlands. Anyway, be sure you have the correct message_eng file in data folder. You could copy and paste manually a message_eng file that you are sure is correct. You just can test this going to message_eng .txt file and look for INDEX-163 line corresponding to Holland. Then, check if it appears the correct name.Aryaman wrote:Ok, now I am running the English version without problems, but some names are in Spanish, for instance a message says "Holanda surrenders to Germany" instead of Netherlands, not that it bothers me, but it seems strange
