WWII needs Blitzkrieg

Post by opthalamia »

Hello

There are plenty of WWII-Wargames with lausoy or no chance of performing Blitzkrieg, because the Engine doesnt support ist. I guess there are 3 neccesary Elements to perform Blitzkrieg.

1) Units must surrender under some conditions. Out of Communication ( The Rad Army almost use telephone, not Radio in tzhe eraly Yeras), lost Supplyroad, an under presure.

2) Tanks must be able to move and fight on after the first Combat, at least if they have won without heacy combat.

3) Effektive CAS

My first Question is, how Blitzkrieg ist implemented in this Game, the Scale ist defined tu Corps. Sure, the German surrounded very large Forces 3 Times in 41, with about 1,5 Million surrendered Soldiers. Anyway, the normal Scale f??r Surrendered Forces are Divisions, not Corpse. How is this included in this Game, is there a Chance to capture some Strengh if a Corpse ist forced to retread? Perhabs depending on the level of disruption a Unit?

I read about this game, that CAS only have a Shockeffect, thats sounds false. Even in 41 the German Luftwaffe cause more damage than the Wehrmacht. Sure, Bombs only hurt if a Groundforce is moving, attacking Forces are moving, and retreating Forces move. Perhabs this could be realized with an aditional Round of Combat, attaking Air against Ground Forces at the End of all other combar phases, with high losses if the Defender retreats and low, if he hold his Position.

PS: I like Clash of Steel, War in Russia and 3rd Reich cause they have Blitzkrieg Rules. All of them are DOS-Games, but ive necer found a Game for Windows who could match with these old Games.

Air Units have both shock values and ground attacks values so they do in fact kill enemies as well as disrupting them in this game. The blitizkrieg is possible due to very strict railroad systems that mean you cannot move away the whole bulk of your forces. The penalties for being cut-off from supply route in CEAW is harsh so units will lose effectiveness fast and you can pick them off.

We also have retreat rules and exploitation moves which means you can create holes in enemy lines. Effectiveness also regain slowly so using your air force to soften up enemies have a lasting effect and they start to retreat when on low effectiveness.
