Reference for Modelling the Jack

Post by peteratjet »

I came across a useful website by re-enactors James and Kimberly Barker "Historic Life", http://www.historiclife.com/

In particular, there is an article about the construction and use of the jack in the Wars of the Roses. The PDF has some piccies of reenactors, preserved specimens of jacks and jacks appearing in contemporary paintings.

Interesting. I have never seen any models or even depictions of the radial stitching found on the surviving museum examples at page 6. Rather stylish.
