bunker and ambush option!

While playing the desert campaign 3. scenario

My units in the bunker “ambush” the attacking enemy infantry units!!

How can it be “ambush”?

The enemy is expecting a defensive fire from the bunkers! That’s why they are build??

It's more about specific placement - they can't bring fire to bear until they can 'see' them.
