CEAW for iPad?

Post by vicco »

Hi Ian!

Porting CEAW to the iPad would open up a whole new group of users to this game. If anything else, it may encourage them to get the Mac or PC version. CEAW is already ported over to NDS so why not iPad? (I am not a programmer so I wouldn't know the complications of such a port. )

Cheers!

Since we're doing a Mac version of CTGW, we were actualy considering an iPad port as well. But no guarantees and this would happen after the PC/Max release. I image it would require different controls and a different UI (buttons large enough to touch). We'll have to see if it's worth the trouble because the iPad wargaming market must be pretty small.

Hi Ian!

What are Slitherine's plans for games for the iPad? With your experience of making games for PSP & NDS, I was hoping something for iPad in the future from Slitherine.

FWIW, I'd get the iPad version. That's already a market of two! Profit! :D
Seriously, why not do some sort of survey to gauge possible demand? Another thought is if there's some way to see how well games in the same genre sell in the App Store, that could give you an idea as to how viable the market might be (or as to when a viable market might appear).

We do have iPad games in production but at the moment CEAW is not one of them. The code is strutured in a very unfriendly way for iPad making it a big job to do.

May we have a hint on what are these games?
