Cutting off the Russian Supply to the Caucasus

Post by massina_nz »

Okay so in my game vs Lynz I've isolated some of his forces in the Caucasus, but he still has supply level 4. Presumably he is still tracing supply back to Moscow thru Persia and around the eastern side of the Caspian Sea? Otherwise his Russian units in the Caucasus would be at supply level 3?

Hi the image shows the supply range from Moscow. White line supply 5 range, Red line supply 4 range.

You will have to go east to cut off supply to the eastern ports to reduce the supply to 3 I believe.

Supply won't be altered until the end of the turn. Has you opponent had a chance you make a turn after you cut the rail link to southern Russia? Try to look at his supply there when you get his next moves.

Russian supply still at level 4, we'll see what happens when I reach the eastern side of the map. Which is very shortly.

Well I've cut off the Eastern side of the Caspian when I reached the eastern board edge, and it didn't make any difference the Russians are still at supply level 4, despite not being able to draw a supply line to Moscow over land or sea, they still seemed to be supplied as if they can. It's not a biggie, but a bug maybe?

The city of Basra is a supply level 5 for the Rail connection for the Allies.
Because of lend lease and distance from Basra, the supply level is 4.

Rotary hoe, thanks for that. You can quit worrying Lindsay.

Although it's bit weird that Russian troops in the Middle East (closer to Basra) actually have worse supply than if they are in Mother Russia in this instance.

It was coded so Allied units in Russia and Russian units in the Middle East got less supply than usual.

But Allied troops in Middle East (Iraq) are at supply level 3 despite this? If level 5 it seems way too much for such a remote destination.

This was done so that the rail line could be created.

Haha Craig, I just found this thread. I wondered myself what would happen then.

LOL, yes Lynz. Now that I've reached the Northern-most edge of the Map for Russia I assume I've cut-off any rail ability to the Urals and the Caucauses.
