DAG ratios and different army sizes

I have seen people mention this, but I am still confused.

When you increase or decrease the maximum points allowed in the DAG, the troop type ratios should remain the same. How do you run out of troops with larger armies? Don't the ratios remain the same, i.e 20% knights are still 20% knights whether the army is 100 points (20pts knights) or 1000 (200pts knights)?

Granted, I usually play with 400-500 points, so I haven't really tried creating many larger armies.

No, the way it works currently is most troop types have a cap, regardless of what ap points you chose. Many armies as you get past 700 points becaome very restrictive in what you can do and you can max out and have ap's left over.....
