Digital River Scam
Digital river I wanted to buy some of your games but I do not trust Digital River. Google them. There is so many complaints its not funny. I can not even find out what the shipping costs are for your games. If you want to slowly go out of business? Use Digital River for payment processing. If I want to use a free E-mail address that should be my business not digital rivers. As long as my payment is good. Your operation is a big disappointment to me. I think you need a Gorden Ramsey of the software business to give you some advice.

Hi Lothorn
Digital River ship millions of games every year so they probably have the highest number of comaplaints, purely because they are an order of magnitude bigger than anyone else, but as a % its pretty low.
In addition we handle all tech support ourselves so if you have any problems we'll fix them and you don;t have to worry about Digital River support.
Digital River provide digital downloads and there are no shipping costs. If you order a boxed game it does not come from DR, it comes direct from us.
Digital River do not allow free e-mail addresses from some countries and this is outside our control.
I'm sure you'll find the service works fine if you try it.

No problems at all
I ordered one of your games and I can say there was no problems and It was just what i was looking for. Its a much better game I think then Sega's Napoleon Total War. Thank you for responding to my complaint. I plan to buy more of your games now that I feel you can be trusted.

Well I ordered one of their games and I got no confirmation email unitl days later. Digital River is a frickin mess of a service. I don't have these issues with Steam, D2D, Impulse or GoG. Digital River is the worst service out there and trying to get customer support from them is next to nil to none. So don't buy anything Digital River distributes.
This site suks also. They said we have a My Page and it's suppose to list all our games and purchases but there is nothing nada on my page. So where is my listing for Field of Glory and Spartan and Conquest? Hrmmm?

Igor, if you read the information it says that it will list your registered games. If you have not registered your games they will not appear on the list.
Works fine for me - when you register you'll see them. As for Digital River, they are the biggest out there so obviously get the most complaints but most people have no issues and if you have any customer service issues come direct to us rather than them as we'll actually fix the problem

Well that's pretty stupid why doesn't it just list the games as you buy them? Why do I need to fill out yet more stupid paperwork? It's getting where you have to apply for a damn job to order anything anymore. What's your name where do you live what credit do you have what's your phone number what's your email address please confirm your email address an on an on an on. (why the hell do you need my phone number or physical address for that matter?) It's a GD digital download for gods sakes.iainmcneil wrote:Igor, if you read the information it says that it will list your registered games. When I buy a game it should just ask me for my forum name and put that sob into my page section. Now how hard would that be?
It should also put the order number and any serial numbers next to each game as well. It'd also help to put that 5 digit credit card number in there hell I have loads of credit cards I can't remember which one I used to buy the GD game.

Hi Igor
all you have to do is press the register button when you launch the game, so it doesnt take much effort. When you guy games you are on a different site and we cannot track if you purchased or not, and if you did we dont know the serial number you were issued.
It is not at all unusual and I dont know any other game that works differently.

When I buy from Steam or D2D or Gamersgate and even GoG and Impluse all my games are stored and listed everytime I login. I can talk on forums on Steam and Impulse and GoG just like here so why can't you have the same setup with DR? DR is so backwoods old fashioned it's pitiful. I have to do a findmyorder for every GD thing purchased there. It's a PITA. You and matrixgames need to come out of the neandrathal age and get with it. Things are suppose to be EASIER for your customers not a PITA. I don't have to do any registering with those other sites either. When I buy the game it AUTOMATICALLY REGISTERS THEM and onto MY GAMES page. Easy, Simple and even a Caveman could do it.iainmcneil wrote:Hi Igor

You are buying the game from Digital River, so if you log in to their page it has all this information about your orders (www.findmyorder.com). It is not avaialble to us, this is just the way Digital River works. This is just the way it works and is exactly the same as the other sites you refer to. Steam/Gamers gate are payment collection sites that let you download files, not developers/publishers of games.
E.g. If a developer/publisher sells a game through Steam, Gamersgate or anywhere else, you cannot go to the developers site and find out details about your purchases. It does not know the details of your order on the Steam site. You have to log in to Steam to find out about games you bought from Steam. The same is true here - if you buy from Digital River you have to log in to the Digital River page.
We work the same as everyone else- makes sense now?

Obviously you didn't read very well or comprehend what I said.
Digital River does NOT store MY games in ONE LIST of games I've bought from them. I have to use SINGULAR findmyorder sequences and I have to REMEMBER every GD credit card number or order number and password I used. I've bought games from you and matrixgames and there is NO LISTING of what I bought LIKE STEAM, IMPULSE, GAMERSGATE or GOG HAS!
It is NOT the same as everyone elses!!! - make sense now?
Let me draw you a picture. I log into Steam with Igorputski there is ALL MY GAMES LISTED I'VE BOUGHT from them.
I log into IMPULSE with Igorputski and wow there is ALL MY GAMES LISTED I'VE BOUGHT from them.
I log into GAMERSGAE with Igorputski and holy moly there is ALL MY GAMES LISTED I'VE BOUGHT from them.
I log into GOG with Igorputski and low and behold there is ALL MY GAMES LISTED I'VE BOUGHT from them.
THIS IS NOT SO WITH DIGITAL RIVER EVER!

When I log in it does for me, so I don't know why it would be different for you. To make it simpler we've added MyPage so you can register and recover your serials without having to do this. It is impossible for us to automate this and it is impossible for us to customize what you see on the DR pages -you'd need to ask them about anything related to their site. Basically - we've made it as simple as possible and there is nothing else we can do with the DR system!

Yes there is you can get rid of it and use one of the other more well known digital distribution sites like Gamersgame or Direct 2 Drive (the two I prefer most), then there's Steam & Impulse.iainmcneil wrote:When I log in it does for me, so I don't know why it would be different for you. As for me I've got nothing listed under my login name for DR and never have. Like I said I've always had to use that damn Findmyorder feature and it sucks rats azz. Their support is the worst of the bunch as well. My god man they give canned feedback when you send in a support request. Stupid crap stuff password spelling and capslocks bs, it's the same garbage canned replies all the time everytime you start a ticket.
Why you and matrixgames use some offbeat digital distributer like Digital River is beyond me when the gaming world is on Steam and Gamersgate and Direct 2 Drive mostly. Impulse is rather backdoor and of course GoG is really for old games anyways but heh most of matrixgames games are old as moses anyways.

Ok thanks Pip I guess i'll register what Slitherine games I have and hope you eventully link matrixgames to this site as well since you are all merged and all now.pipfromslitherine wrote:Unfortunately no. Integrating the two seperate systems is not a small job, and will take some time. However, Slitherine games purchased through Matrix should work fine.
Cheers
Pip
