near renaissance mini

Post by Dareun »

Hi there,

It's a while i'm looking the mirliton and the black hat mini for the near renaissance period (italian quincento french / spaniard / suiss pikemen and so on)
One question: does mirliton and black hat mini mix well?
I got the feeling that black hat model are a bit chunky while mirliton are pretty thin.

Did somebody already made a try?
What about the outcome?

thx in advance for your input

cheers

Just went through this exercise for my SHNC Spaniards.

Although I did not look at Black Hat to flesh out the Mirliton figures, I did order Venexia miniature from their Spanish/Italian Wars range.

I am still at the early assembly/painting stage, but the Venexia appear to mix very well with the Mirliton. On top of that, they are truly stunning figures and include some troops peculiar to the Spaniards -- i.e., Sword & Buckler Men and late Medieval Jinetes.

They are available through Vexillia Miniatures in the UK, and Martin there has been very good to deal with. http://www.vexillia.ltd.uk/
