GS Mod 1.5 does not work with Commander 1.12.1
Evening,
this is just to let the dev team of the GS Mod know that the latest version of the mod (or more precisely, the whole 1.5 version) does not work with Commander when the base game is patched to version 1.12.1 using the mini patch from Slitherine. Starting the mod in such a case opens a command line window which is quickly closed and nothing happens.
The possible culprit behind this might be the new dialog window that is displayed before the game starts, giving you the option of using fullscreen and sound. In base 1.12, the "Play Commander..." file is actually a link to the java runtime with some command line parameters and the corresponding class file. With the mini patch applied, the link instead points to the file responsible for the dialog window, which probably has hardcoded calls to the java runtime with some changes. Or maybe the game simply requires the dialog to be run first; this is hard to tell without seeing the source code itself.
The current workaround is to not install the mini patch and use just the 1.12 version, which works with the GS Mod flawlessly.

There you go - http://www.slitherine.com/files/ceaw/pa ... 1.12.1.exe
The Gold version is already 1.12, so no need to patch anything if you want to install the GS Mod.
As for patches, you can find them in the "Downloads" section, the only problem is that all the patches are grouped together and you can't specifically ask for patches for a particular game, so you have to go through the pages until you find it.
