Because the rules only say "full" Bow, and not Bow*

Or if your after the logic, it is, I think, that Bow* means there aren't really enough archers laying down enough shooting to justify it, and that the bow is a bit of a secondary weapon for them. Something along those lines anyway.

Because they are close combat troops with a bit of firepower. Highlanders, North American Injuns, Samurai. So they are probably to busy countercharging.

Because the writers are all either English or Lowland Scots and did it to annoy the Higland, Native American & Japanese army fans out there.

It isn't paranoia when they are actually writing the rules against you..... :D

K got the figures, and they are being painted.

Some of them have muskets ( they are French Indian wars ) and I was wondering, how will the troops be in FoG (R) ?

I agree with this comment. Samurai are almost powerless against Romans.
15mm: Swiss, Spartans, Late Republic Romans, EIR Romans, and can you believe it Samurai. 800 points
28mm: Late Republic Romans 650 points
28mm: Samurai 800 points

Well my Choctaw version debuted last night against some Santa doodies masquarading as Conquistador Spanish.

I even had a 'Wounded Knee' to help the cause as the bow* shot up his armoured foot, before deciding the manly thing to do was to steam into him. Overall not a bad evening, my heavy weapons unit got smashed by knights in no time at all, but the impact foot unit next to them rolled 6s all night for morale to stay happily disrupted despite losing melee after melee to another unit of tin cans. My superior impact foot ran into some sword & buckler types and ended up routing, although other average units of impact foot starred for me by fragging a pike block & smashing through armoured os & xb in no time to give the timed out score of 10.8 - 9.2, although it was a 25-0 fun v no fun for me !

Looking forward to next week when they take on the Sea People.
