A beginners FoG wishlist

Hi all,

i am really enjoying this game. but after two or three dozen games i had some wishes coming up. i would be happy if some of you could comment on these:

1. User made guides for beginners

i find the manual to be unhandy. how about some of the experienced players out there would do some guides for beginners?
a guide how to use commanders, thoughts about terrain, troop composition, tactics etc?

next to points would help to keep motivation up for a long time:

2. PBEM Ranking

This would be very motivating if there would be a multiplayer ranking probably combined with statistics for each army set you used. some elo or go style ranking that keeps track of you game abilities.

3. Tournaments

either user made or official ones. joinable on the official servers.

1. It's been said before that the manual isn't up to date and not the best to begin with. Slitherines view on the matter is that they don't have the manpower and other priorities like new features comes first. An understandable position in my mind.

2. I think they have plans for something like that but not sure how detailed it will be.

3. You have Pantherboys league and several campaigns. Admittedly only The Lost World is really open for new players all the time. I think the Strategos campaing is short a few players. The League seems to have lost some players and there might be an opening next season. Some players have already asked so they might get in before you if there will be openings.

where do i find the lost world?

1. i asked for user made guides. not slitherine making a new manual. experienced pc or tt players giving away some of their wisdom. when i bought advanced tactics from matrix games last year, there were several user made guides that helped me getting into the game real fast.

Look at the forums folder for Field of Glory Campaigns & then within that the ones for Lost World. Have a read of the Players Guide & see if it's to your taste - if so just contact me.
