Don't worry about the checksum error. That is normal since you have started the turn with a new version. The checksum error message will disappear the turn after both of you have installed the new version. This is just a check for you to see if your opponent has installed the new version as well. Since the last save game was saved in v1.02 you will get a checksum error when loading it in v1.05. When you make your moves and save then Supermax will NOT see a checksum error if he has installed v1.05 too.
I suspect that you see the US surrender message because the save game has a wrong flag about the status of USA in v1.02. So the code will make USA surrender because Washington is Axis controlled. Then it will remove all US units. The flag should then set US as surrendered and not try to respawn USA when you end the turn. I guess that Supermax saved his last save game in v1.02. That means the code will try to respawn USA because USA is not active and you're past their entry date. So his save game could have been saved with USA active.
I propose you try again to play with v1.05. Let's advance the game a turn so both of you save with v1.05. Then we can see if the messages pop up again. If it happens just once it's only caused because you transition from v1.02 to v1.05.

Ok, I and Supermax will do a couple of test turns.Stauffenberg wrote:Don't worry about the checksum error. That is normal since you have started the turn with a new version. We have tested and you are correct Borger. For Supermax the US surrender messages did not appear when he did his test turn. The war will continue on GS 1.05PanzerGeneral wrote:Ok, I and Supermax will do a couple of test turns.Stauffenberg wrote:Don't worry about the checksum error. Is there another way to get the file?
Btw... great mod!

Note that this archive contains all the files changed or added for the GS expansion (except for the manual) and can be applied over the top of any version of the game including the vanilla v1.12 or v1.12.1.
Link to manual: REMOVED (later version available).
Link to v1.05-mini-patch: REMOVED (later version available).
This mini-patch is meant to be applied over the top of v1.04 to get v1.05.
Link to v1.05-inc: http://rapidshare.com/files/375572225/GSVer1.05-INC.zip
v1.05-inc can be applied over the top of GS v1.02 (or later) to get v1.05.

May 8, 2010 GS Mini Patch
Link: REMOVED.
This mini-patch contains a fix to a bug that can happen when playing against the AI. The bug happens when the player has a German sub surrounded and the AI tries to move the sub and the game hangs. The fix was made a while back and we thought that it was included in the latest updates. However; it had been left out even though the fix was presence in our source files. I've updated the above mini patch to also include this fix.
This mini-patch must be applied over the top of v1.04 or v1.05 (prior version) to get v1.05 with this fix. Note: this bug only occurs in games against the AI and not in hotseat or PBEM games

May 25, 2010 GS Mini Patch
Link: REMOVED (later version available).
74. Fixed a bug where allied convoys would hang at their spawning points if “bottleneck” hexes were occupied by friendly (allied) naval units.
75. Added <date>ai.scn scenarios, where Switzerland is pro-axis to prevent the axis AI from declaring war on Switzerland. This is the only difference from the <date>.scn scenarios.
76. Fixed a feature where only <date>.scn (<date> = 1939, 1940, 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944) scenario files would work with GS. That is, the inclusion of a scenario file by any other name would cause GS to crash on startup. This feature has been fixed such that GS will start up and compile any scenario that follows the format <date>*.scn for <date> = 1939, 1940, 1941, 1942, 1943 or 1944 only.
77. Updated the GS language file messages so that if the player does try the tutorial there are references to the Players manual v1.05. There is still a bug in the code where the resource info will come up if user hits the ' - ' (dash) or clicks on the DoW button. However if the user preses the DoW button again the DoW info is presented.
This mini-patch must be applied over the top of v1.04 or v1.05 (prior version) to get v1.05 with this fix.
Barring any other major bug find this will be the final "version" for v1.05. If you're so inclined please feel free to put this "version" of v1.05 through it's paces to make sure it holds together.

78. Changed the tutorial so that references to the player’s manual are by section number and not page number in case the manual is updated in the future.

79. Refined the tutorial messages so that they’ll fit properly in their respective text boxes.
Thanks to Paul for his hard work on this!!! See: viewtopic.php?p=149978#149978
