Ottoman Turks at 800 pts

hey there.

Couple quick questions about Ottomans.

I made a list which I tested today (and it is difficult here in RSA to even find an opponent which is why I bug u guys so much

):

1xSerb Ally TC

2x4 Cv/Armoured/Superior/Undrilled/Bow/Sword (Timariots)
2x4 LH/Unprotected/Average/Undrilled/Bow (Akinjis)
2x4 LH/Unprotected/Superior/Undrilled/Lancer Swordsmen (Delis)
2x6 LF/Unprotected/Poor/Undrilled/Bow (Azabs)
1x4 LF/Unprotected/Average/Undrilled/Firearm (Azabs)
1x4 LF/Unprotected/Superior/Drilled/Firearm (Jannisary)
2x8 MF/Protected/Superior/Drilled/Bow/Swordsmen (Jannisary)
1x4 Kn/Heavily Armoured/Superior/Undrilled/Lancer Swordsmen (Serbian Nobles-Ally)

799AP PBI: +4 BG Count: 13

How is this? Does anyone have examples of any lists doing well in FoG Tournaments (We have'nt really got any)?

Although I am not sure of his order of battle Pete Dalby won the 2009 World FoG and the smaller FoG competition at Britcon. I am more sure of one of these than the other

I used to run Ottomans with Serbs but I recently tried a more traditional version. I used the following list when I came 2nd at a recent tournament (themed to 1000-1500AD)

Pete's winning list was something like the below. So a bit more cavalry than your version

Just one? Presumably designed to allow a column of something to deploy 15MU in

I received the same advice from Pete in the past.
It's great: you can deploy 1 BG of MF jannissery in column with a Sub-commander or 1 BG of Drilled Superior CV where you need.

As I prefer to move first, I save some points not using IC but 3 TC's plus Serbian Ally and so having 2 and not 4 for initiative.
In this way field defence is more helpfull

I remember Porter using one come to think of it. Foederate Roman, Roll call, 2008 IIRC.
