I seem to have misunderstood something...mostly from lack of playing in something like this. I had been playing where when one side broke, at that instant they lost, regardless of whether the other side then also broke during the same turn the game would end. I've been told you are playing where if both sides break in the same turn, it is considered a draw.

My previous boastings of victory would seem somewhat in error.

I understood it as you did as well , its whoever broke first , that's what happens in the normal games and multi player.
I thought it would only be a draw if the game ended its turns without either player exceeding their breakpoints.

Luckily i have not victories to boast about

It was I that challenged Blathergut's assertion of victory. This was based on an earlier posting that I read viewtopic.php?t=13509, given additional credence by the reply by Keith from Hexwar.

I guess the difference with the TT game is that the game currently doesn't finish when one side breaks and this therefore creates additional losses after the game normally ends. This is particularly relevant for the Lost World campaign as future armies are based on the losses you have at the end of the previous battle.

Ideally, one of the following would happen; either the game should end at the 1st break, or the message should say 'Draw'. I know both Blathergut and I both received messages telling us we'd won.

If any of the official Slitherine, Hexwar, etc. people have a different perspective on this then please tell us.

Victory is determined in FoG PC and in FoG TT at the end of a phase. At that point, if one side has broken and the other has not then the game is a victory for the unbroken side. If both sides are broken at the end of a phase then the game is a draw. The FoG TT rules have more phases in a turn than FoG PC so more places during a turn where the game could end. For FoG PC, the game normally ends at the end of the movement/combat phase for one side, but before the bolster and rout/pursuit phase.

I believe there are bugs previously noted about the victory window not correctly reporting draw results clearly as being a draw so hopefully this will get fixed.

For LW purposes if both sides end a turn at or beyond the break point then it's a draw.

Obviously I'm back in the LW now - that was my final full week away for this year so I'll be able to follow the campaign at the frequency needed. Thanks for bearing with me.

Also we may have another new player coming shortly.

Sorry for the lack of response - my modem failed. Apparently there is a limit to how much tape you can use to hold it together. Got a new one now - lot faster too.

Will catch up on the reduced army sizes for recent battles tonight.

davidfagnand joins us as player 24.
New Englandia will be in box 16 of the grid (anyone who had used that space as a free move may still do so for existing war).
Armies are Pyrrhic & Late Burgundian.

Welcome on board Dave. I'll post the full details to Scar (who maintains the map for us).

No - still quite some time to go. Summer is the longest season obviously.

Since you want me to, I wont :P

3 battles is enough for anyone, my troops haven't had a break for months, they are going home for some serious R&R :)

Loaded the upto date players table. You may want to check your national morale colour. For taxation anyone not in green or gold will struggle raising full taxes without upsetting your meeples.

You use the absolute minimum (please let me know the points used). Shame there is no city to withdraw into.
