Some thoughts on the last tutorial.

Post by Obsolete »

I remember in the tutorial there was mentioning of using air support. However I still was left with certain questions (and still am). I remember being instructed to target the NORTH 88 gun with my air support. Because apparently this maximizes damage. I assume due to the way a straffing run works, so you may get 2 birds with one stone (or possibly more?).

I am curious, does this always work in a (start with the North first) pattern? If so, then shouldn't there be some sort of compass (North marker), so the player knows which way is UP? Or is this always assumed that UP screen is always North when you start, which brings a technical paradox since both players technically think the other player's south is his own north :P

I'd like a little more clarification on this mechanic. It's ok not to mention all details in a tutorial, after all people who purchase the title SHOULD read the damn manual as well. But at the moment, I'd like to have a little better understanding on what I"m testing.

Airstrikes do tend to fly in one direction, it's true. It's just the way we have built them. I do have a request to mix it up a little, but it's kinda ugly to do because of the way they are scripted.

A compass might be something we can do fairly simply, although the isometric viewpoint we default to makes it less simple to judge directions.

Cheers
