Most pike and shot BGs at the date you're looking at will be either 6 shot and 3 pike, or 4 shot and 2 pike.

Re: BG Question
Just to elaborate, the 6 shot + 3 pike BGs are Later Tercios - forming up 3 bases deep. The lists govern whether these are permitted. In the time frame you are looking at, they had started to be replaced by smaller, shallower formations, represented by 4 shot and 2 pikes.david53 wrote:nikgaukroger wrote:Well none are 6 shot and 2 pikedavid53 wrote:Not in on the rules but just wondered are all Foot BG ie ones with Pike/shot are made up of 6 shot to 2 pike looking at an Early TYR around about 1620 ish.![]()

Early TYW Protestant armies can have both. Early TYW Catholic armies can have Later Tercios (and some Early Tercios which - in this list - have 6 shot and 6 pikes. )
From 1632 Protestants and Catholics share a joint list, with all the pike and shot BGs having 4 shot and 2 pikes.
Re: BG Question
