Gallingly Gallic 800pts...

Post by BeansNFranks »

Looking to put my order in for some 6mm dudes and after fiddling with some lists this is what I came up with:

I originally did not have an IC in, but I figure I will have two of my commanders running the mobile wings, and the Ally Field has to command the Gaesati. Thought the IC was needed to command and move the 24 bases of HF. I also have no MF in the list, mainly to not have to deal with a second allied commander. I am getting enough figures to also do later armies with no chariots, and to do Solduri as another option. Of the lists I have made up though this is by far my favorite and I would love some feedback, and to know if anyone sees anything that is not legal.

Dont have lists with me so can't comment on legality.

I know what you mean about the second allied commander - however, terrain is going to be a problem without them. Kind of damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Re the Gaesati not sure why they need an FC - surely a TC would do? I've seen people take these in a big blob (12?) and stick a general with them to fight - seems to make them very strong. What you could do is make this guy a TC and up one of the main army TCs to an FC. Will help to flank march chariots etc.

I'm not a fan on light chariots in FOG - no melee PoAs will hurt them I think. Still, the light spear is unseful and superior is always good.

It's cheaper to do an allied FC than a regular one and I had the points sitting around.

But the point difference between an ally TC/FC and a normal TC/FC is the same. The ally can affect fewer troops, normally they will all be within 4MU, so use a sub general FC.

putting the arg into argumentative, except for the lists I check where there is no argument!

Basic math escapes me sometimes, you are indeed correct.
