Figure Mix

Post by spikemesq »

How do the Corvus Belli figures compare to Venexia and/or Mirliton? Considering a mix of these within an army and/or within a base.

TIA

Mounted mix very well, I'm now making some mixed bases of Free Comp. medieval lance Cv with Mirliton teutonic light Cv and Corvus hobilars and mounted sargeants.Corvus foot are HUGE. They should got an extra POA when fighting against essex miniatures :D .

I have bought Corvus Belli Ancients and they mix well with Essex. So, is this Medieval range especially big? I had thought about mixing them with Essex given my previous experience with Ancients, but I will reconsider it if you confirm me that.
Thanks in advance

Hello, the billmen of corvus aren't significantly taller than the Essex ones but they look much, much more stronger. They could mix but everybody will know who has the better food in your army(and the best personal trainer) :)

What line? I've got the LB, MAA and Mounted from the 100YW line and even within the same line there are differences in size. The LB are much larger than the MAA&Mounted, but are such nice figures I'd rather keep them and find bigger models for the others. My Venexia Turks were much larger than my OG turks but as I haven't seen their other lines buyer beware. My Mirliton always seem to fit with OG. That being said the CB longbow are larger than the OG longbow....

Hope this helps. If you want the CB MAA&Mounted, drop me a PM. A trade could be in order...

I am looking at using Mirliton, Venexia and Corvus Belli for a SHNC army.

Mirliton (Burgundian) for the mounted (other than Jinetes) and Off Sp.

Venexia (French/Italian Wars) for the Jinetes and S&B men, maybe some other foot.

Corvus Belli (100YW) for the Def Sp., maybe some other foot.

The Corvus Belli are a late addition to the mix because Mirliton/Venexia don't really have anything I like for the Def Spear.

Have you checked out Donnington's New Era they have a HYW range from early through to late and they are very nice figures.

It was better to leave disputing about the faith to the theologians and just run argumentative non-believers through with the sword (Louis IX).

Spike you can order Donnington in the US from LoneStarHobbies in TX. I don't know if they have the new fix yet.
