Sorry been out all day, coming to the forums late. I bet the problem was kingdoms setting their 400 point army as a 400 DAG size. Even if its 400 points, it still needs to be a 700 DAG army, just don't build the points.Blathergut wrote:From the rules:

I know I can't keep the campaigns straight anymore.!!!!

The day is ours French brothers.
I tip my cap to my worthy opponent and will post more details here as I must leave now on real life stuff.
A well fought battle and a truly worthy foe, we shall meet again fine sir and I can only hope to be as lucky again, HUZZAH!!

A brief after action report follows:
The English had a mass of archers I think it was 19, that almost stretched across the whole map, with 9 foot knights (numbers may be off)
The Britton army 14 foot knights, 3 mounted knights, 12 longbows and 3 Hobilars.
The map had 3 rough hills along my left with 3 gentle hills on my right, I had some fields in front with woods to my rear. The English also had woods to their rear and a gentle hill in their deployment area.
After exchanging pleasantries we agreed to both advance. It took a bit of mucking about to get my knights to move up behind my line of bows as I had to move around the fields.
I shifted to my left as I advanced sending Hobilars out front to scout his army, which I successfully did.
The English refused their right, drawing their bow line back on an angle, I had 3 knights on my right to counter any attempts to make a move on my right flank.
We advanced and when in range both sides let loose with the shafts of death. When I was close enough to the English I opened gaps in my bow line to allow my knights to sortie forth and engage the English bows.
My knights on my right were forced to pull back to their left as they were being showered by arrows from the massive English bow line.
As my knights hit the bow line 1 of my Hobilars that had moved up my left flank behind the hills popped out in the rear of the English line. Several of his knights turned to face this new threat, just as I blew a few holes in the English bow line. This allowed a few rear charges which I believe was the turning point of the battle. The rear charges and the collapse of the bow line meant the English left disappeared in a mass rout. I managed to rear charge 3 units of English knights who were so badly mauled as to not do anything in the way of fighting on that flank.
Off on the other side the English bent their bow line in using it to shoot up my right flank units that were not engaged yet. I quickly dispatched my archers to my right to try and stem what I was afraid would be an envelopment of my right. My mounted knights had not been committed yet so I sent them to the right flank.
With the English right put to rout I brought all the forces I could against the remaining center, no more rear charges but I did get a lot of overlaps on the English. The English bows charged my foot knights and kept up a strong shooting match against my relocated archers, but it was not enough as their archers fell before my knights and my mounted knights that I had committed to the battle on my right. The English did not have stakes and were easy prey for my mounted troops.
A glorious victory and I thank my worthy opponent for a well fought battle.
Sorry no screen shots from me, I dont have any photo sites so cant post them on the forums

We have one more battle still going, once that is complete, we will move on to the Pay upkeep phase. This will be a fast phase, probably don't even need a full day as everyone is below their free units amount, then it will be recruitment. So please be thinking of what you want to recruit.
Also, if you want, send me your recruitment now (early), we might be able to move very quickly on to 1337 summer.

Quick question - for those who can have more than 1 army in field. Is it possible to spend 100 silver points to start your new army and then split the army between points already on the field? Ie, have my 100 silver points spent to raise my new army and then divide up my existing army between the two. I was looking in the rules and didn't explicitly see anything that addressed this so I thought I'd check. Thanks.Scar wrote:We have one more battle still going, once that is complete, we will move on to the Pay upkeep phase. As long as the two armies are in the same territory, you can share the points back and forth between them during the recruitment phase. If they are in different provinces, you can not share points, you will have to form the new one, pay the fee, then spend your points in one or ther other. The already formed one can not send to the other, unless they are togather.RyanDG wrote:Quick question - for those who can have more than 1 army in field. FOW
FOW USE IN 100YW
He guys, looks like the voting was in favor of changing to the use of FOW for he 100YW campaign battles. However, the vote was passed by a slim margin. I am going to require the battles be fought with FOW unless both players agree to not using it.
If your really opposed to the use, please drop me a PM and we can talk about it.

Is the battle still raging?Scar wrote:We have one more battle still going, once that is complete, we will move on to the Pay upkeep phase. I can feel the humdrum

Yes, we are still waiting on the last battle. I received a report that they got off to a slow start, some sort of technical difficulty.hidde wrote:Is the battle still raging?Scar wrote:We have one more battle still going, once that is complete, we will move on to the Pay upkeep phase. Blusters away.... FEEBLE!!!
I may be invading your forces in an alternate reality but they are hardly feeble, if you have such an itch for Medievals perhaps we can switch armies in turn 2 or our LW chaos bash and smash.
I think the English types are trying to force the Duke of Brittany to make the rash decisions by insulting him, well it won't work you weak kneed English k-nigit and empty headed animal food trough type!!
Feels much better now that he has had a chance to post a suitable response to that blasphemy

Worth considering...what Condotta Venice do you have? Outside Italy or regular? Nice to know if there will be Swiss pikemen or not..if you have such an itch for Medievals perhaps we can switch armies in turn 2 or our LW chaos bash and smash.

Well, I think I don't want to switch armies between battles but next time maybe it could be medieval from the start

Battle of Gerona
The battle was fought in the hilly countriside of Gerona, with some steep slopes.
The Aragonese army was composed largely of Spearmen and Knights, with some shot support, while the Aquitanians fielded the usual combination of archers and billmen, with some Gascon knights.
The battle started with a long exchange of skirmishing and ranged shooting. Finally, the Aquitanian infantry advanced, routing the Aragonese spearmen, but being disorganized in the process, they were counterattacked by the Aragonese knights and were routed in turn. The Aquitanian army was routed, losses were heavy on both sides.
My congratulations to the king of Aragon

Recent research has indicated I got the wrong John
As it turns out I was little off on my Johns, at present Brittany is ruled by John III the Good.
He is the last of the ruling line, and my death in about 4 years will set off the Breton War of Succession since I nominated my niece Joanna of Dreux, from house of Blois, as opposed to a step brother, John of Montfort (from Dads second marriage, which line I tried to have bastardized after dear old dad died and I took power). Brittany was French aligned at this time so Scar was correct in our original alliance. They switched sides after the civil war as Montfort was supported by the English.
John III had 3 wives Isabelle of Valoise, Isabella of Castille and Joan of Savoy who would outlive John. He died childless, hence the civil war.
For the next few years I will have to sign my signature as John III The Good Duke of Brittany.
