Camels

Post by marshalney2000 »

I see that camels cost extra points but can find no combat benefit on the play sheet and presume this is an area still being worked on. Presumably something like poa against mounted or indeed cause of disruption in both impact and melee.

They disorder horses within 1 base width (I wonder why here they do not use MUs), so besides being useful in their own combat, they can disorder mounted in other combats. Elephants have a similar effect.

It is posted as an afterthought in page 67 and I agree it should be somewhere more obvious, like troop descriptions or Disorder.

1 MU would not disorder the rear rank of cavalry. 2 MUs would disorder bases 2 bases away in 15mm.

We only want them to disorder adjacent and 2nd rank bases.

Note that this allows friendly cavalry to form up beside elephants/camels. If 2 ranks deep, only 2 bases are disordered, so they won't lose any melee dice. (Unless they have elephants/camels at both ends of the BG).

Agreed, we just have not decided where. The terrain disorder section does not seem right either.
