25mm tips

Post by Scrumpy »

Played my first 25mm game last night, 800 pts on an 8x5 table. FIrst thing I noticed was that you need to deploy right as you have virtually no chance of re-deploying with the 40mm = 1 mu scale.

What other tips do poeple have for using 25mm compared to 15mm ?

I assume foot armies dominate at this scale ?

In most tournaments that I've been in, we adjust the starting positions - measureing from the middle so we start the same relative distance apart as 15mm.

with 40mm MUs it seems the norm is for 8/12 MU deployment distances instead of 10/15
Clear the battlefield and let me see

In Australia our 25mm comps have all been played with 1MU = 1 inch. This gives the opportunity to redeploy. Comps have all been on 6 x 4 tables with either 600 or 650 points. Opinion is divided but I prefer 600.
It does make for a different game dynamic in that wheeling is not as effective and command control is more restrictive. It does favour foot armies but well used mounted have also done ok.

Cheers......Geoff
