As the release of this expansion pack is some months away, I wonder if there might be an opportunity to influence its contents.
“Immortal Fire” is going to be the first expansion pack which overlaps with an existing expansion Pack. (in this case “Rise of Rome”) Slitherine, could therefore take the easy way out here, as a lot of the existing images used for "Rise of Rome" could just be used again for “Immortal Fire” with additional ones added for new armies, such as Persian, Indian and Egyptian types.
I do feel however this would be a pity, since there is an opportunity to add in a greater variety of images for troop types, covered in both “Immortal Fire” and “Rise of Rome” in particular, more irregularly dressed units, where we have several battle groups of the same type, with variations in things such as shield blazon tunic colours, and helmet crest between individual figures in a battle group and battle groups of the same type, to put it another way, I would like to see several different alternatives for classical Greek hoplites, Greek & Thracian Peltasts & Indian troops, in the way in which we have different alternatives for Germanic and Gallic warriors.
It would also be good to have some additional variations in some of the troop types covered in "Rise of Rome" such as additional early Hellenistic elephants, and Hellenistic hoplites and pikemen from specific Greek city states (as indicated by their shield blazons) such as Sparta, Thebes and the Achaean League.
Also an oriental bolt shooter would come in handy, (to defend passes in Persia against Alexander) and an apatite wetter helping of Late Babylonians to fight the Early Achaemenid Persians in the way in which we got some Early Achaemenid Persians as a taster in “Rise of Rome” would also be very well received. at least by me.
What do people think ?

The expansion will contain the armies found in the TT army book of the same title. As far as images go I think they can reuse many of them especially with the Indians that they already have in the scenario builder. Should see early and late Achmenid Persians as they are in that army list book. Personally I am looking forward to seeing how Indians do against Bactrians and Alexander.

I would love to see an option in the DAG added, whereby we might have a range of troop images to pick from for each unit! For example, you purchase a hoplite, and up in the corner where the image is displayed there could be an arrow to cycle through 3 or 4 different hoplite image options.
Actually, maybe that's not the best idea, what do you lot reckon? Personally, I'm more eager to see a campaign mode.

Actually, I like the image idea, as long as it was optional so I could still have a quick game sometimes. Some kind of simple campaign framework would be great too. Another thing I would like to see is some way of playing hot seat games using the DAG and an option in the DAG to set one army's value higher than the other for challenging games.
So far I am loving Field of Glory though.

that'd be great. I'd like my Swiss divisions to be readily distinguishable from one another (I have a rather sad obsession with such things...). and it would be most appropriate for many lists across the books. For example, you purchase a hoplite, and up in the corner where the image is displayed there could be an arrow to cycle through 3 or 4 different hoplite image options
